Frequently asked questions
How agent skills work, format specifications, and runtime discovery.
What is an AI Agent Skill?
A Skill is a modular folder containing instructions (SKILL.md), scripts, and domain resources that teach an autonomous coding assistant or LLM agent how to perform specialized workflows (e.g. production deployments, anti-slop UI design, motion graphics, database tuning).
How do Skills differ from MCP servers?
MCP provides live API client-server communication channels to run tools and read resources (e.g. databases, file systems). Skills provide the behavioral intelligence, engineering runbooks, decision criteria, and workflow rules directing how and when the agent executes those tools.
How do I install a skill into Claude Code, Cursor, or Antigravity?
Install with npx lumoz-skills add <skill-slug>, or copy the skill's SKILL.md file into your repository's .agents/skills/<skill-name>/SKILL.md directory. Any compliant agent discovers it automatically on boot.
Can I contribute an open source skill?
Yes. All skills in the Lumoz directory are open source under permissive licenses (MIT or Apache-2.0). Submit a pull request at github.com/lumozai/skills to have your skill reviewed and indexed.
